Blue Hanley is enthusiastic about circus in all its form, and is a circus tutor, performer, and administrator. Blue teaches classes for Galway Community Circus including a weekly specialist Stilt-Walking class and has performed with Macnas on stilts on many occasions since 2006.

Blue is the Country Contact and Representative of Ireland on the board of the European Juggling Association. In this role she seeks to encourage Irish people and people living in Ireland to attend the European Juggling Convention through dissemination of information at conventions and social media. Blue is also supporting the teams of 2018 (Azores, Portugal) and 2019 (Newark, UK) through promotion and volunteer work.

Blue has also organised her own circus convention, the Galway Juggling Convention (GJC). Blue was the convention director for GJC 2016, 2015 and 2014, and has continued her work with the convention in an advisor role and as a technician for shows.

Blue participates and coordinates on circus exchanges and projects. Currently she coordinates, with five other tutors, a long-term project called #ABCirk. #ABCirk is a European Youth Leadership Scheme, combining blended mobility and audio visual elements in aiding youth circus members to become assistant tutors. You can follow the project on Youtube.

Blue was a youth circus member at Galway Community Circus for five years. During this time Blue performed in many shows directed by Fidget Feet, was Vice-Chairperson of the UK Youth Circus Network (formerly the UK Youth Circus Forum) and participated in the Celtic Youth Circus Exchange, 2010.
